Akshaya Tritiya Pooja
Akshaya tritiya is very auspicious day. It is practice in madhwa community to apply sandal wood paste to Sri Guru Raghavendra swami brindavana and Lord Sri Narasimha. This grand decoration is a cynosure to eyes .
The sandal wood paste which is applied on brindavana is taken out next day and distributed to devotees. Sandal wood paste is known for its divine fragrance and cooling properties. The sandal wood thus obtained as prasada has to be applied on fore head or consumed in little quantities with teertha or holy water.
Consumption of sandal wood paste cools body and also skin. It soothes the body tissues which have been tiered of summer heat. Apart from these materialistic benefits, the divine sandal wood paste which is prasada of Sri Gururayaru destroys the sins and purifies body.
